North Goa : complete guide for first time traveller to Goa

From scenic beaches, amazing waterfall treks, beautiful rivers, most happening nightlife in India (not to forget casinos in Goa ) to a delightful blend of Portuguese and Indian culture in Goa. It has been always in bucket list for all type of travellers.



Some interesting facts about Goa


  1. you might not be aware that 30 per cent of the total land area of Goa is covered by forests. As such, it wouldn't be entirely wrong to say that Goa also boasts of an amazing variety of rare flora and fauna.

  2. Dudhsagar Falls which has a height of 310 m is one of the highest falls of India. It is on Zuari river.

  3. Dead body of Saint Francis Xavier is preserved in Basilica of Bom Jesus Church. This church is the iconic symbol of old Goa which shows the glimpse of Portuguese tradition,

  4. After independence the Indian government requested for Portuguese territories to be ceded to India. After their refusal, Goa, Daman & Diu was annexed by military operation called “Operation Vijay” on 19 Dec 1961.

  5. Goa is home to Asia’s one of the unique Naval Aviation Museums as it preserves the history and legacy of the Naval Aviation.Today, there are more than 15 types of aircraft at the museum and a wide range of scaled models of aircraft carriers


North Goa vs South Goa ⁉️

North Goa is all about nightlife, shopping and liveliness, whereas South Goa has unblemished beaches, scenic drives and Relaxing time close to nature. Both are beautiful in their own way.



However if you are visiting Goa for first time you should head to north Goa to see most happening place in India:


Best time to visit : mid November to mid feb ( December and January being peak season)

🤟🏻🌴Calangute beach :

situated along with Baga beach it is more clean and calm which and best location to stay during first time in Goa.

Main attraction : water sport activities like like parasailing, water surfing, banana ride and jet-skiing. 🪂⛷





🏝👯Baga beach and Tito’s lane :

Baga Beach is quite famous for its commercial nightlife. The famous Tito’s Lane has many bars, lounges, and clubs

Top attractions: Club Tito, Cafe Mambo, Capetown Cafe, Cocktails and Dreams, and Las olas

However that’s not all about Baga The beach shacks in Baga are the best places for relaxation and live music with a cool breeze around, and gazing long into the sea.

Candolim is more chilled, with mainly European tourists, If you are beach people, the Candolim beaches are better, cleaner, and less crowded.

How to reach :

The distance between Calangute and Arambol Beach is24.2 km. You can ride on your bike to here.



🏖🪂Queriem beach and sweet water lake

How to reach

The Sweet Water Lake can be found by the small stretch of shoreline known as Kalacha Beach. Due to its secluded location, the only way to reach the beach is on foot. It's a short walk north from Arambol Beach. A slightly trickier footpath leads to and from Querim Beach.

How to reach:

This amazing garden is to be found in the beginning of the little town called Arambol. Right in the beginning of Arambol beach before the big parking lot there is a street going to the right. Across from this street you can enter a fence passing by a nice coffee shop to find Garden of Dreams.

There are 2 ways to get from Calangute to Bicholim by taxi or drive car



🤟🏻Parra coconut road/ famous Dear zindagi Road

How to reach :

Remember the pristine narrow roads lined with palm trees on either side, of the Dear Zindagi fame? That's the Parra road for you! On your google map search for St. Anne's Church in Parra and you'll easily spot the road.
